Gum diseases occur as a result of infection in the tissues surrounding the gums. Infection in the gums causes inflammation of the gum tissue. Gum diseases are very common among people. Gum diseases diagnosed at an early stage can be treated without surgery. However, if gingival diseases have progressed, they should be treated surgically. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment of gingival diseases is extremely important.
The most important symptom seen in gingival diseases is gingival bleeding. Bleeding does not occur in a healthy gum. Swelling, redness, discoloration, gingival recession, gingival enlargement, swaying or displacement of the teeth, sensitivity and bad breath are among the frequently observed symptoms of gingival diseases.
Early-stage gum disease is known as gingivitis. When the inflammation in the gums is not treated, the connective tissues that fix the teeth to the jawbone become inflamed. This stage of gingivitis, which is advanced gingivitis, is called “periodontitis”. Periodontitis, which is an extremely serious problem, should be treated as soon as possible.
Treatment methods of gum diseases; It varies depending on the stage of the disease, the degree of effectiveness of the previous treatments and the general health status.
