Dental prostheses applied to restore the chewing, speech functions and aesthetic appearance of the patient in case of tooth loss are divided into 4 groups;

• Fixed prostheses

• removable prostheses

• Implant prostheses

• Maxillofacial prostheses

Fixed Prostheses

Fixed prosthesis is the general name of non-removable dental restorations such as crowns, bridges or implants applied to complete the lost teeth in the mouth. Fixed dentures, which are widely used in dental cavities, can only be inserted and removed by dentists, unlike removable removable dentures.

Removable Prostheses

Removable dentures are a type of prosthesis that can be applied to patients who have lost some of their teeth and can be attached and removed by the patient. During use, the teeth in the mouth are supported with the help of holders. When using removable dentures, there should be retaining elements on both sides of the jaw in order to maintain the balance of the teeth. For this reason, there is a main part connecting the two sides on the palate, which is the upper part of the jaw, and on the back of the front teeth in the lower jaw. Paying attention to hygiene while using removable dentures is extremely important in order to protect the existing teeth in the mouth.

Implant Top Prostheses

One or a complete missing tooth can be resolved with implant-supported prostheses. Implant-supported prostheses can be prepared as both fixed and mobile. Removable dentures applied to those who have no teeth in the mouth are similar to total dentures. Fixed implant prostheses are porcelain crowns applied to one or more teeth.
